Why I’m So Passionate About Real Estate

Why I'm passionate about real estate

Why I’m passionate about real estate: it’s the people and the life transitions that lead them to buy or sell a home.

There are lots of reasons to enjoy a career in real estate. I’ve heard many people entering the profession with expectations of time freedom, easy money, and access to lots of HGTV worthy properties. What they quickly find out is that their time will be dictated by two things: the needs of their clients and how passionate they are about building a thriving real estate practice; the money isn’t exactly “easy” and is directly tied to their knowledge, skills, and the level of service they provide to the buyers, sellers and investors they serve; and as far as HGTV, they will likely find themselves in more of the “before” pictures than “after”. We all know that it’s never as easy as it looks on TV, and that is no truer than when it comes to real estate. I love helping people buy and sell homes, and here’s why I’m so passionate about real estate.

I love helping people buy and sell homes. But here’s the real passion for me:

It’s that young couple, just starting out and searching for the home in which they will grow together and create a family.

It’s the newly divorced Dad who is looking for the perfect place to have his kids and build his relationship with them.

It’s the family that realizes that Mom can no longer live independently and helping her get into assisted living requires the sale of the long time family home.

It’s the single woman who has decided to leave the suburbs to be in the heart of the city where she will have access to events and experiences that enrich her life.

It’s the family who realizes they have outgrown their home and with a baby on the way, seeks a more spacious home with a great backyard to keep the kids busy and entertained.

It’s the investor who realizes that a balanced portfolio includes real estate and knows that Phoenix is a great place to purchase an investment property.

It’s the couple who have raised their children and are ready to simplify and downsize (but still want a little extra room for the grandkids!).

It’s the splitting couple who need a great deal of help to get their home sold and for each individual to find a place where they can get on with the business of rebuilding.

And it’s the family who has lost a loved one and is going through the painful process of selling the home that has helped them feel connected to the one they’ve lost.

This is the passion for me. It’s the honor of being a small part of the life transitions that motivate one to sell and/or purchase a home. Sometimes it’s a happy, welcome transition and sometimes it’s an unexpected, painful one. Either way, connecting to people in their happiness or their pain has been the central theme of my previous and current career and it’s why I’m so passionate about real estate.
