Annual Regional Unity Walk 2019 at Tempe Beach Park

Unity Walk, 2019

The regional Unity Walk brings residents from many cities together in support of Unity

Want a break from divisiveness, conflict, bickering and animosity? Does the term “Unity” bring memories of a more peaceful time? Then you will love participating in the annual Regional Unity Walk, 2019 at Tempe Beach Park. On January 26th, residents of many valley cities including Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe will gather to show their support for unity among all Arizonan’s. Each city will provide t-shirts to participants creating a rainbow of walkers who will traverse a one mile path around Tempe Beach Park. I can tell you from past experiences, it’s quite the party!

In this day and age, when it feels like there is so much that separates us, the Annual Regional Unity Walk, hosted by the diversity office of each city, could not come at a better time. Yes, we may hold different beliefs, dress differently, celebrate differently and even disagree on a variety of issues. But in addition to those differences, we also hold some vast similarities….

  • We love (pets, kids, parents, partners, friends, binge watching netflix!)
  • We laugh (different things may tickle our funny bone, but we all have one)
  • We hurt (the vulnerability of our humanity makes for painful experiences for all of us)
  • We want to belong (regardless of who you are, your background, likes and dislikes, we all want to be a part of something bigger than just ourselves).

Come on out for the annual Regional Unity Walk 2019 at Tempe Beach Park at 4:30pm on Saturday, January 26th and share what makes us all human and united!
